About Andres Duarte-Rojo, MD, MSc, DSc
Andres Duarte-Rojo completed his MD at Ignacio A. Santos School of Medicine (ITESM) in Monterrey, and then trained on Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición SZ, in Mexico City, México. Subsequently, he pursued advanced hepatology training at the University of Toronto, in Canada, and Mayo Clinic - Rochester (Transplant Fellowship), MN. His research training includes a Master's degree and a Doctorate in Medical Sciences at the National University of Mexico. He joined UAMS Faculty in 2011 and has been the Director of the Viral Hepatitis Program since then. In 2015 Dr. Duarte-Rojo became the Medical Director of the Liver Transplant Program. He is an Assistant Professor at the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and a member of the Clinician Scientist Program.
