About Fadi G.. Hage, MD
Dr. Hage, a cardiologist clinician-scientist, is a Professor of Medicine with tenure in the Division of Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and at the Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He is the Director of Nuclear Cardiology at UAB, the Chief of Cardiology at the Birmingham VAMC, a member in the Advanced Imaging Facility and Cyclotron Innovations for Alabama Oversight Committee and the Vascular Biology and Hypertension Program. An experienced clinical investigator in cardiovascular disease, Dr. Hage has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals (> 300 published manuscripts), mentored many trainees, is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology and serves leadership roles in many professional societies including the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association and the Birmingham Cardiovascular Society. His excellence has been recognized by his designation as a Master of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, the highest honor for the society which is reserved for distinguished leaders in the field of nuclear cardiology. He has been a member of the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation since 2010 and has attended all annual meetings since being a trainee. He won the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation Young Investigator Award (2008) and the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation and International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences – North America Chapter Young Clinician Scientist Award (2009). Since then, he routinely brings his trainees to the annual meeting, many of whom have won awards, and all have greatly enjoyed the experience of interacting with trainees and distinguished faculty from the Society.
