About N. Stanley Nahman, Jr., MD
Dr. Nahman joined the faculty at Ohio State after completing his fellowship at the same institution. He directed the Nephrology fellowship program at OSU until 2003. In research, he was Co-PI on 3 NIH clinical trials (Captopril in diabetic nephropathy, MDRD, and the AASK) and PI on 2 NIH basic science grants investigating glomerular gene delivery systems. In 2004, he moved to the University of Florida College of Medicine Jacksonville as Director of the division of Nephrology and Hypertension. In six years he built the division from one to 5 full time faculty and for nine months also served as interim Chairman of the Department. In 2007 he established a new Nephrology fellowship program. He moved to MCG at Augusta University in 2010 and joined the Division of Nephrology as a Professor of Medicine. He is currently the Departmental Associate Chair for Translational Research and participates in several epidemiologic and basic science study groups. He lives in Aiken, SC with his wife, 4 horses, 1.75 barn cats, and a yappy dog named Yogi.
