About Mohamed G. Shoreibah, MD
Dr. Shoreibah joined the faculty of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the UAB after completing fellowship training in transplant hepatology, also at the UAB. Throughout his career, he has trained and practiced all aspects of hepatology. He has over 30 journal publications and 75 conference presentations and related abstracts. His research interests include gastric antral vascular ectasia (GAVE) management and association with metabolic syndrome and the increased risk of mortality in cirrhotics with sarcopenia undergoing TIPS procedure. Dr. Shoreibah also serves as an Internal Medicine residency core faculty member at the UAB. He is working on a project to help make subspecialty education more accessible to internal medicine residents nationwide. He received the Kreisberg Award from the Department of Medicine at the UAB to further the develop the project. In 2020, he received the Best Teaching Hepatologist Award at the UAB. He was also awarded the Top 10 Teachers Award in the Department of Medicine in 2020 and 2021.
